- Shoppers can reach you. Call, text, chat, financing, service, and a price button are all on the home page.
- But they have to close things first. On a phone, 2 pop-ups cover the page before anyone sees your cars.
- And the phone number is text, not a button, on desktop. A one-line fix that turns every desktop visit into a possible call.

“Not sure” means we could not confirm it either way — it is never counted against a store. Hover a column heading to see what it means. The first group is Toyota stores; the second is the used-car lots that show up when someone searches “used cars Newport News.”

Counted from real screenshots of each home page taken 2026-08-25. Google considers under 2.5 seconds “good”; times are shown only where the scanner measured them. Pop-ups that appear later or on scroll are not counted, so these are minimums.
Fix these first — in plain English
- 1Take the 'Buy Your Next Toyota Online' box off the front door.
It covers the whole page the moment someone arrives. Keep SmartPath — put it one tap away instead of in the way.
- 2Make the phone number a button on desktop.
On a computer, 757-874-6000 is plain text. Making it clickable is a one-line change and every call counts.
- 3Tell Google your address and phone number the way your rivals do.
The information is on the page, but not in the format Google reads. Rivals' listings get the benefit; yours doesn't. Your web provider can add it in an afternoon.
- 4Move the accessibility button off the search filters on phones.
It sits on top of the 'All Filters' control, so a shopper trying to narrow the inventory taps the wrong thing.
How this was checked: every store's home page was opened in a real Chrome browser, and the buttons a shopper can use were recorded by hand; an automated scanner added the technical detail where it could.
